Curfew continues at Mendhar in India held-Kashmir
Pakistan Times Kashmir Desk

JAMMU (IHK): In occupied Kashmir, the curfew clamped on Mendhar town two days ago, is still in force as situation remained tense in the area following angry protest demonstrations, sparked after Hindu extremist elements forcibly prevented construction of a mosque in the town.

Meanwhile, the residents of Vethpara, Sowtange, Bagender and Bonugam localities of Srinagar have expressed their anger at the severe restrictions imposed by Indian army on their movement.

They told media persons that pathways zigzagging the localities have been encroached upon by the army personnel, making it impossible for the pedestrians to move.

People of many villages of Kupwara district told media men that the personnel of Indian Special Operations Group (SOG) masquerading as Mujahideen are harassing them.

The frightened people said that the SOG men barge into their houses at night and subject inmates to harassment, besides ransacking the households.

The infamous SOG, which is especially raised by India and deployed in occupied Kashmir, with a task whereby a Kashmiri could be detained, investigated and punished without any provocation.

The very SOG was recently caught red-handed, killing Kashmiris in fake encounters and burying them clandestinely after labeling them as the so-called non-Kashmiri militants.

Forensic laboratory in Chandigarh India, after taking DNA samples of the dead bodies of the youth exhumed from the graveyards in occupied Kashmir, confirmed that the samples matched those brought up by the relatives of the said youth.

The exhumations were carried out by the occupation authorities after coming under pressure from Kashmiri Hurriyat organizations' intense campaign and protest demonstrations from the families of the disappeared youth asking India to disclose whereabouts of hundreds of Kashmiri youth, who got disappeared in Indian troops' custody.●
