Pakistan name U-19 Squad for Australia

ISLAMABAD: Prolific opener
Ahmed Shahzad from Lahore will lead the Pakistan U-19 squad, which will
visit Australia next month. Islamabad’s all-rounder Immad Wasim will be his
deputy.
The Junior Selection Committee recommended names of 15 U-19 cricketers, who
performed exceptionally well in the domestic cricket tournaments.
The team will play a number of matches in Australia, as this tour is being
rated highly in the context of forming a better future squad for Pakistan.
Following is the 15-member squad: Ahmed Shahzad (Captain Lahore), Immad
Wasim (V.Captain Islamabad), Zeeshan Mushtaq (Islamabad), Umer Amin,
Mohammad Aamir, Mohammad Ramiz (all from Rawalpindi), Shan Masud, Shahzeb,
Ali Jawad (all from Karachi), Saadullah Ghouri (Lahore), Taimoor Ali (Quetta),
Mohammad Laeq (Faisalabad), Gulraiz Sadaf (W/Keeper – Multan), Rahatullah
(Peshawar), and Junaid Khan (Abbottabad).
There will be five standbys: Kamran Hussain (Islamabad), Jamal Anwar
(W/Keeper Rawalpindi), Sherjeel Khan (Hyd), Adil Amin (Peshawar) and Junaid
Malik (Lahore).
The boys will undergo training at the NCA for three weeks before flying out
to Australia in the company of coach Mohsin Shaikh. The PCB will announce
the Manager for the team in due course.●
