Pakistan Polo Team off to New

LAHORE: A 9-member Pakistan
Polo squad left here on Wednesday for New Zealand to take part in the Zone D
play off of the World Polo cup being played in Auckland from February 26.
The party comprises six players and three officials, said a spokesman of the
Lahore Polo Club while talking to APP.
Shah Qubilai Alam will lead the side whose other members are Raja Samiullah,
Hissam Ali Hyder, Haseeb Minhas, Saqib Khan Khan and Ahmad Ali Tiwana.
“Shah, Raja and Hissam are four goal handicap players while Haseeb is a
three goal handicapper and Saqib and Ahmed are two goals handicap players”,
he said.
A J H el Effendi is the coach and Agha Murtaza Ali will act as manager. Lt
Col Farhat Abbas is accompanying the team as Pakistan Polo Association’s
representative.
Australia,South Africa, India, Pakistan and hosts New Zealand are the teams
of the Zone D which was organised four years ago at Lahore and Pakistan won
it to qualify for the main round of the world championship.
He said Pakistan will launch its campaign by playing Australia on February
26.
