By Altaf Hamid Rao
'Pakistan Times' Kashmir Bureau Chief
MIRPUR (AJK):
Speaker of Azad Jammu Kashmir Legislative Assembly Shah Ghulam Qadir Monday
vehemently condemned the massive explosion in Delhi-Lahore “Samjhota
Express” train which left dozens of innocent passengers dead and scores of
others injured.
Talking to 'Pakistan Times' [Daily Web Newspaper] Monday, Shah Ghulam
Qadir said that this was the most heinous act of terrorism aimed to sabotage
the Pak-India peace process.
He called upon India to immediately hold a high level probe into the tragedy
and unveil the subversive elements trying to undermine the ongoing peace
process between India and Pakistan.
The speaker said that this could be the act of those forces which were in,
no way, favour of the peaceful ties between Pakistan and India through the
early peaceful settlement of all longstanding differences including the core
issue of Kashmir.
Shah Ghulam Qadir said that the killing of innocent people in the train
tragedy was extremely condemnable act of the subversive forces. He said that
the civilized world should take immediate notice of such incidents of
terrorism – whether these take place in South Asia or elsewhere in the
world.
The AJK LA Speaker expressed the hope that these mean tactics of terrorism
will not harm the ongoing Pak-India peace process and rather both the
countries would continue the efforts for establishment of permanent and
durable peace in the region through resolving all outstanding differences
including Kashmir – the prime cause of tension between the two countries, he
added.
Central Coordination Secretary All Jammu Kashmir Muslim Conference Ch.
Muhammad Sideeque also Monday strongly condemned the Samjhota express train
blast terming it an act of worst kind of terrorism on the part of the
subversive forces adamant to sabotage the confidence building measures
initiated by India and Pakistan in the wake of the ongoing peace efforts.
Talking to this Correspondent here Monday Ch. Sideeque said that providing
security and protection to the passengers of the train at the Indian side
was the responsibility of the Indian government and she should hold a high
level inquiry to unearth the forces involved in the tragic mishap.
The MC leader said that the Pak-India peace process was required to be
continued in larger interest of both the countries through resolution of all
outstanding differences especially the major issue of Kashmir through a
composite dialogue.
The Muslim Conference leader said that although Pakistan, being the major
ally of war against terrorism was constantly becoming the victim of the
terrorist activities since past many months – yet these mean tactics of the
subversive forces could not shake the high spirit and resolve of Pakistan to
fight against terrorism and to eliminate the terrorist forces from their
roots, he added.●
