UK Govt asks Nawaz to get his British Visa Extended
'Pakistan Times' UK Bureau

LONDON (UK): The British Government is reported to have asked Pakistan's ex-Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif to get his visa renewed for further stay in London.

With this the fate of ex-premier once again hung in the balance, a repot said on Thursday.

The news report said that the six-month renewed visa of Mian Nawaz Sharif expired in January 2007, and he has already left London and is in Dubai to apply to the British Government for the renewal of his visa.

This is the second time when Mian Nawaz Sharif has been asked to get his visit visa renewed by leaving London and applying from some other country. Initially, he arrived from Jeddah in January 2006.

As Mian Nawaz Sharif cannot go to Pakistan, he has taken the easy route of visiting Dubai to get the new visa. However, this time again, he seems to be facing some difficulties in getting it done at the earliest, said the report.

Quoting sources, the report said that PML [N] chief Mian Nawaz Sharif had applied for renewal of visit visa for the UK from Dubai and his case has been sent to the British Home Office and decision is yet to be taken.●
