LAHORE: A four-day Chinese
Export-Commodities Exhibition will be held in the Punjab capital on July
24-28. Some 200 kinds of commodities in over 20 categories will be placed on
display at the event being arranged in collaboration with Kashgar
government, government of Punjab and Lahore Chamber of Commerce and
Industry.
This was revealed by Wang Xinbing, Director Kashgar Foreign Affair Office,
while talking to LCCI President Shahid Hassan Sheikh here at Lahore Chamber
of Commerce and Industry on Wednesday.
Yan Yue, Deputy Chief of Economic and Commercial Bureau, LCCI Standing
Committee Convener on Fairs and Exhibitions, Jamil Naz were also present on
the occasion.
Wang Xinbing said the exhibition would provide an opportunity to Pakistani
businessmen to identify areas of their choice for initiating business with
their Chinese counterparts.
He said such exhibitions and trade fairs would promote China-Pakistan
bilateral trade and economic cooperation.
Wang Xinbing noted that active trade links and frequent exchange of
delegations increased the volume of two-way trade.
He said the consistency in policies and the economic reforms introduced by
the government had made Pakistan a hub of business activities.
The situation is so business-friendly and conducive that a large number of
potential Chinese investors are keen to make investment in Pakistan but they
are unable to make it only because of unavailability of proper information.
Wang Xinbing said there are ample opportunities for Sino- Pak trade and
joint ventures in a number of sectors and this could only be materialized if
chambers of commerce in Pakistan play their role in this regard.
He said rapid industrialization and increasing foreign trade and economic
cooperation demonstrate the unique appeal of China.
He urged the LCCI leaders to arrange a business delegation to China so that
the Pakistani business community could be able to have first hand knowledge
about the available opportunities there.
Speaking on the occasion, LCCI President Shahid Hassan Sheikh assured the
LCCI of full support for the upcoming exhibition and added that Pakistan and
China are enjoying friendly relations for almost five centuries.
There is a close understanding between Pakistan and China on all the
international issues. China has made significant contribution to the
development of Pakistan through a number of projects, he said.●
