Pakistan Times Kashmir Desk

SRINAGAR (IHK): Stepping up attacks ahead of the Republic Day, attackers today triggered three blasts in Awantipora and Bandipora area of Indian Occupied Kashmir injuring six paramilitary personnel.

Five Central Reserve Police Force personnel were injured when they set off an improvised explosive device (IED) targetting a vehicle of the CRPF at Panzana near Awantipora in Pulwama district, said a media report quoting officials.

Earlier, a Security Force personnel was injured when an attacker hurled a grenade on a picket at Bandipora township of Baramulla district around 1.30 pm, officials said.

They said window panes of a security vehicle were also smashed under the impact of the blast. Minutes after the incident, the attackers struck again with a grenade in the north Kashmir town targetting an army patrol, officials said.

However, no one was injured in the blast as the device missed the intended target, they added.

The latest attacks come close on the heels of a grenade attack on an army convoy at Pattan on Srinagar-Baramulla national highway yesterday, which left 13 people injured.●
