Two policemen arrested over fake Kashmir gun Battle

SRINAGAR (IHK): Two policemen in Indian-occupied Kashmir have been arrested for staging a mock gun battle and killing a local carpenter whom they falsely claimed was a 'militant', authorities said on Monday.

Police said the two men were arrested on the outskirts of Srinagar, where they are suspected of staging the fake battle and killing Abdul Rehman Padder, a 35-year-old father of five children.

"The two policemen are the prime suspects for killing Padder," said a police source.

A government statement said police had launched an investigation into the disappearance of Padder, who went missing on Dec 8.●
