Kazakhstan's Prime Minister Resigns

ALMATY: Kazakh Prime Minister Daniyal Akhmetov resigned on Monday, the government press office said.

Akhmetov, who served as the oil-rich Central Asian nation's prime minister since 2003, offered his resignation at a Cabinet meeting, the press office said.

It gave no reason for the move, which will lead to the appointment of a new government.●
