Five die by traffic mishaps in Pakistan

SAHIWAL: Two persons were killed and seven seriously injured in two traffic mishaps in Sahiwal on Monday.

A speedy car was overturned at Sahiwal-Faisalabad road killing two persons on the spot, police said. The driver and another person in the car were seriously wounded in the accident.

Five persons of a family were seriously injured in another incident when a car collided with a truck near grain market in Sahiwal.

And a report from Karachi says that a speedy trailer crushed to death three motorbike riders Monday in SITE area of Karachi, police said.

A trailer due to overspeed crushed motorcycle riders at Piracha Chowk in SITE area killing three persons Javed Mukhtar, Zulfiqar and Moiz Ahmed 12, on the spot.

The dead bodies were taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital. The victims were residents of the Goal Market area in Nazimabad.

They were going to Mowachh Goth for purchase of sacrifice animal when the trailer hit their motorbike, Muhammad Waseem, father of a deceased, said.

The trailer was set on fire by an angry mob after the accident. Police have arrested trailer driver Iqbal Qasim.
