MMA to discuss resignation issue after Eid
Pakistan Times National News Desk

ISLAMABAD: The meeting of Supreme Council of Muttahida Majalis Amal (MMA) has been concluded on Thursday without any settlement of differences within the ranks of the alliance over resignations from the parliament.

The component parties of the alliance failed to reach a consensus, however Deputy Parliamentary leader of the MMA, Hafiz Hussain said that a meeting of central Supreme Council will be held after Eid in which the resignation issue will be deliberated again.

According to sources, Maulana Fazlur Rehman told the meeting on Wednesday that his party’s Majlis-e-Shura (consultative body) has quite clearly opted against offering resignations from the assemblies.

The leaders of Jamaat Islami however argued in favor of quitting the assemblies.

According to sources, any decision on the issue will be taken in the Supreme Council after Eid.●
