Azad Kashmir Prime Minister condoles with Mumtaz Hamid Rao

ISLAMABAD: The Prime
Minister of Azad Kas hmir,
Sardar Attique Ahmed Khan expressed on Sunday his deep shock and grief over
the demise of the widow of late Abdul Hamid Nizami, the illustrious scholar
and intellectual of the 20th century of the Himalayan State of Jammu &
Kashmir.
The AJK Premier visited the residence of Mumtaz Hamid Rao, noted
journalist/analyst and ex-Director of News, Pakistan Television [PTV] and
son of the departed soul in Islamabad Sunday evening to offer his heartfelt
condolences.
Prime Minister Attique, who was accompanied by top officials of the Azad
Kashmir Government offered Fateha for the mother of Mumtaz Hamid Rao and
Senior Kashmiri journalist Altaf Hamid Rao, praying that; may Almighty Allah
rest the departed soul in eternal peace in the Heavens and grant courage and
fortitude to the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss.
Begum Abdul Hamid Nizami who died in Lahore on Sunday last after suffering a
paralysis assault, a few months ago leaves behind five sons and two
daughters.
Besides Mumtaz Hamid Rao and Altaf Hamid Rao, her sons include UK-based
Orthopedic Surgeon Dr. M. Salim Nizami, Engineer Ejaz Ahmed and ex-Banker
Waris Nizami.
She was the grand mother of Wing Commander Faisal Mumtaz Rao of Pakistan Air
Force [PAF], Ali Mumtaz Rao Social Welfare Officer in the service of British
Local Government, Captain Omer Mumtaz Rao of Pakistan Army and Raza Mumtaz
Rao, Executive Editor of ‘Pakistan Times’ [Daily Web Newspaper] and
Fellowt in TV and Broadcast Media Journalism at Manchester Metropolitan
University in UK.
Many other top personalities have also expressed grief and condoled with
Mumtaz Hamid Rao, Editor-in-Chief ‘Pakistan Times’ [Daily Web
Newspaper] over the sad demise of his mother.
Among others, they also
include Information Minister Muhammad Ali Durrani, ex-Federal Minister SK
Tresslor, Speaker of AJK Legislative Assembly Shah Ghulam Qadir and
ex-Federal Secretary for Information & Broadcasting and Vice-Chancellor/CEO
Hamdard University Khawaja Ejaz Sarwar.●
