22.5m tons wheat yield set as goal in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: Food, Agriculture and Livestock Secretary, Ismail Qureshi said Saturday that a target of 2,25,00,000 tons of wheat produce has been set to achieve this year. This target is7,90,000 tons more than that of last year.

Ismail Qureshi said that in Sindh, wheat cultivation has been started from Badin and Thatta.

During the current year, wheat will be cultivated over an area of 2,09,00,000 acres of land that is 375,000 acres more than that of last year.

Ismail Qureshi said that wheat will be cultivated in Punjab over 15930,000 acres of land, Sindh 22,25,000 acres, NWFP 18,80,000 acres and in Balochistan 750,000 acres of land.●
