Treasury, Opposition row in Sindh Provincial Assembly ends
'Pakistan Times' Sindh Bureau

KARACHI: A row between treasury and opposition benches in the Sindh Assembly ended Monday when Provincial Local Minister Mohammed Hussain apologized for the remarks he made on Thursday last in reaction to the remarks by opposition’s Zahid Bhurgari against the MQM Chief.

Zahid Bhurgari, however, did not follow suit regarding the remarks he had made. Speaking on the occasion Senior Minister Syed Sardar Ahmed said that one should see as to who initiated the dispute first which drew a reaction.

He said on Thursday he had suggested both Zahid Bhurgari and Minister Mohammed Hussain say “sorry” which would have brought the matter to end. He told Speaker Syed Muzaffar Hussain Shah that whatever his ruling will be in the matter, the same would be acceptable to treasury benches.

LG Minister Mohammed Hussain said that he had offered that if Zahid Bhuragi, who had sparked the dispute, offered an apology for his remarks, he too would apologize and would pay all respect to the chair’s ruling.

Zahid Bhurgari said that his remarks only created misunderstanding.

Speaker Muzaffar Hussain Shah said that he had gone through the video and other record which showed that although Zahiud Bhurgari did not name Altaf Hussain, the inference one would draw from his remarks was that they were directed against him. He said whether inference was drawn wrongly or rightly, if they offer apology, the issue of ego will not arise.

Syed Sardar Ahmed said that whether or not the opposition member offered an apology the treasury side would.

Mohammed Hussain narrated the remarks made by Zahid Bhurgari which, he said, ignited the matter. He however offered an apology. Thereafter the Speaker ruled that since Mohammed Hussian has apologized, the matter was over now.●
