Power Station Fire severs supply in NW Pakistan

MALAKAND: The fire that broke out at the Jaban Power House of Tehsil Dargai in the district here inflicted losses into several millions of rupees besides interrupting supply of electricity from the Power House.

Sources told that the fire broke out in the mid of Saturday and Sunday night at Jaban Power House due to short circuit, resulting in the damage to the five turbines of the Power house besides power outage.

The blaze brought under control after seven hours wreaked losses into several millions of rupees.

Jaban Power House of 8.2-megawatt capacity was set up in 1937 at the River swat here.●
