41 deportees from Spain are Pakistani Nationals: FO

ISLAMABAD: Foreign Office Friday said that 41 deportees from Spain are Pakistani nationals who had gone there on illegal documents.

Foreign Office spokesperson Ms Tasneem Aslam said in a statement that illegal immigrants gave wrong impression that they belong to Indian Held Kashmir (IHK).

In a joint probe by authorities of Pakistan and Spain it has been confirmed that 41 immigrants are Pakistani nationals, she added.

She said that in a bid to save them from legal action, immigrant shave been changing their statements in Spain and Pakistan.

Earlier immigrants deposed before the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) that they belong to IHK.

FIA vowed send back non-Pakistanis immigrants to Spain. A plane, carrying the illegal immigrants landed here from Spain on Thursday.

But most of the immigrants contended they were not Pakistani nationals. However during a joint probe their Pakistani nationality was proved, FO said.●
