Azad Kashmir approves capital punishment for gang rape Convicts

MUZAFFARABAD (AJK): Azad Jammu and Kashmir’s legislative assembly on Wednesday approved amended Hudood bill under which capital punishment would be awarded to those convicts involved in gang rape cases.

The bill was approved in the assembly’s meeting here today, which was presided over by Speaker assembly Shah Ghulam Qadir.

The ‘Court of criminal procedures amended ordinance 2006’ had also granted rights for requesting bail if the cases against women sentenced for capital punishment or more than 10 years imprisonment had not been decided within 6 months.●
