KESC starts receiving additional bank charges on monthly bills

KARACHI: Karachi Electric Supply Corporation (KESC) started receiving eight rupees under the head of additional bank charges, it was reported on Saturday.

According to KESC spokesman Syed Sultan Hasan, before this, banks used to claim two rupees per bill on utility bills, adding that however, the banks increased their charges to eight rupees.

Earlier, the corporation used to afford expenditures incurred under the head of bank charges. However, the charges have been shifted on to the consumers to pay.

Thus, KESC consumers will pay an additional Rs192 million annually as bank charges. On the other hand, the consumers said that they are already paying eight rupee on paying their bills through internet or credit cards.●
