Pakistan's leading cellular network Mobilink celebrates Month-of-Giving with Roshni Homes

ISLAMABAD: Mobilink, the country’s leading cellular company with more than 19 million customers throughout Pakistan and part of Orascom Telecom, today launched a special Ramadan ‘month-of-giving’ commitment via an SMS campaign enabling customers to donate to Roshni Homes Trust.

The Company announced a cash donation of Rs. 500,000 as seed money for a new housing block at Roshni Homes, Gujranwala. Known for its philanthropic deeds, Mobilink also committed to donate money generated through the sale of tickets at Mobilink Mobile Fairs to the Roshni Homes charitable funds.

Bilal Munir Sheikh, Vice President Marketing, Mobilink while making the announcement said, “On this auspicious and Holy month of Ramadan, we feel it is our moral duty to illustrate the occasion as a ‘month-of-giving’ by setting an example ourselves. We hope our small but meaningful contribution will facilitate Roshni Homes brighten the lives of orphaned children and children from broken homes.”

Mobilink invites all its 19 million customers during this sacred month of Ramadan to come forward whole-heartedly and donate generously to the Roshni Homes Trust by typing RH and SMS to 6446.

Each SMS is charged Rs.10+ tax. The company has also planned to fund the airing of the Roshni Homes TVC on various TV channels.

Roshni Homes is a private charitable trust being run by a Board of Trustees; and is devoted towards housing and educating orphaned and abandoned children of the community. Roshni Homes cares for all children regardless of race or creed.

The RH Trust gives children an opportunity to build lasting relationships within a family by providing care and education, thus enabling them to become active members of the community.

Children enrolled at Roshni Homes receive basic education and skills-training to make them self-reliant and become worthy contributing members of society. Roshni Homes believes in long-term family approach to the care of orphaned and abandoned children through three basic principles: a home, a family and education.
