Mirwaiz condemns youth's killing by Delhi Police

SRINAGAR (IHK): The Chairman of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, addressing a Juma congregation at Jamia Masjid Srinagar, strongly denounced the killing in Delhi police custody of a Kashmiri youth, Irshad Ahmad Lone.

Mirwaiz said, Lone had gone to Delhi in search of livelihood and the Delhi police arrested him without any rhyme or reason and then tortured him to death.

He said that it was a clear proof of the fact that India did not want Kashmir dispute to be resolved peacefully and instead it was coercing Kashmiris into submission.

The APHC Chairman warned India against advancing on its deep-rooted conspiracy to commit genocide of innocent Kashmiris. He condemned BJP and other Hindu extremist organizations for advocating execution of the death sentence awarded by a Delhi court to Kashmiri youth, Muhammad Afzal Guru.

He said, the Hindu extremist groups were propagating against Kashmiri youth to further their petty political motives.

He reiterated the innocence of Afzal Guru and called upon India to revoke the death sentence against him. Mirwaiz announced that the next Friday, (the last in the Holy month of Ramzan) would be celebrated as the Prisoners' Day, Kashmir Day and Sacred Day.●
