Pakistanis advised not to travel to Iraq
By Maria A Khan 'Pakistan Times' Diplomatic Correspondent

ISLAMABAD: As the security situation in Iraq remains difficult, the government has advised Pakistanis intending to travel to Iraq to postpone their visit and those who are already there to take necessary precautionary measures.

A Foreign Office spokesperson in a statement said the Iraqi authorities had been contacted to ascertain the number of Pakistanis killed in the attack.

The Pakistan Embassy in Jordan is also establishing contact with Pakistan survivors of the attack for their early evacuation.

Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Muhammad Ali Durrani Saturday expressed his deep sorrow and grief over the death of a number of Pakistanis, killed in a terrorist attack on a bus of pilgrims in Kerbala.

The Minister strongly condemned this terrorist act and offered his deepest condolences to the bereaved families.

He prayed to Allah Almighty for the eternal peace of the departed souls and to give fortitude to the families to bear loss of their loved ones.●
