Peace agreement signed in N.Waziristan

MIRAN SHAH: In the North Waziristan, the political administration and local Taliban signed Saturday the peace agreement.

The agreement was prompted by ‘Grand Jirga’ established for the upkeep of peace in Waziristan.

Grand Jirga members Malak Nasrullah and Haji Aun Ali said that for last one month, the 45 members of the jirga were in constant negotiations with local Taliban and the political administration.

They told that the peace agreement was signed by ten leaders of local Taliban and Dr. Fakhr Aalam Irfan--a political agent in North Waziristan.

According to jirga members, the details of the agreement would be made public in a couple of days at Governor House in Peshawar.

Moreover, as a result of attempts of the Grand Jirga, at least 150 detainees in North Waziristan were also got freed and more than 500 shops and trade centres were opened.●
