Couple’s Death; Islamabad Police Takes
3-day physical remand of Servant

ISLAMABAD: Police took
three-day physical remand of the servant, alleged accused of killing of a
couple last week.
Thirty-five year old Zahid Mehmood, resident of Rawalpindi has been arrested
for his alleged involvement in the killing of Wing Commander (Retd) Ghulam
Abbas and his wife Ghulam Sughra who, according to the examination reports
died of having poisonous food.
It was reported that Zahid was the only one present on the day of incident.
Sources in police said that Zahid was presented before Magistrate Muzammil
Mosa in the court here Tuesday and the court granted three-day physical
remand of the accused.
Police has applied for the ‘call observation list’ to know the record of the
phone calls made by the alleged culprit during the last two months. Police
sources said there might be some relatives of the couple involved in the
crime and that is also being explored.
Police official said we are investigating the relatives of the deceased
couple and particularly those having access to inside of their home.
He said State Bank of Pakistan will soon inform the investigation team about
the bank accounts and lockers the couple had and also about the transactions
history. “Grabbing money may also be the motive behind the crime,” the
official said.●
