ISLAMABAD: Water level was
on a constant rise at Tarbela and Mangla dams during current spell of
monsoon rains in the country.
Indus, Ravi and Chenab rivers flowing at lower level flood at various
places, met department said. According to flood forecasting division report,
river Indus at Tarbela, Kalabagh and Chashma, river Ravi at Balloki and
Shahdara and Chenab at Head Maralla are in low flood.
Water level at Tarbela dam reservoir was reached to 1520.40 feet after
further three ft. increase. The dam reservoir has maximum 1550 ft water
capacity.
The water level at Mangla dam reservoir has also crossed 1195 feet height,
seven ft. below the maximum capacity of 1202 ft.
Met office has forecast partly cloudy weather with chances of
thunderstorm/rain during next 24 hours.
According to weather pundits, a seasonal low lies over Balochistan and
adjoining Iran while monsoon low lies over Rajasthan (India).
This weather pattern is likely to cause thunderstorm /rain at many places
over lower Sindh and adjoining coastal Balochistan. isolated rain is
expected over the upper catchments of all the major rivers alongwith
northern and northeastern Punjab.
Meanwhile, rain was reported from many places over lower Sindh, northeastern
Balochistan and the upper catchments of Indus.●
