Pakistan, China to cooperate in
archaeology, preservation of Artefacts

ISLAMABAD: Minister for
Culture, Dr. G.G. Jamal on Sunday said Pakistan and China will start
cooperation in the field of archaeology and preservation of artefacts.
He said this while talking to journalists after completing week-long visit
to China on 55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations
between Pakistan and China.
The minister said during visit, the Pakistani delegation held meetings with
Chinese dignitaries and cultural related personalities and both were agreed
to further boost the cooperation between the two countries in the field of
culture.
He said China was looking forward for further enhancing economic and
commercial interaction with Pakistan. He added both countries are working on
the project of up gradation of Karakuram Highway which will be helpful to
boost tourism, trade and cultural between the two countries.
He said Chinese cultural troupe would be the first international cultural
group to perform in the Pakistan National Art Gallery which will be
completed soon.
During his meeting with Chen Zhite, State Councilor of China both were
agreed to enhance people to people contacts through cultural exchanges
programme which will have positive impacts on trade, tourism and education.
The Chinese State Councilor said that Pak-China friendship is based on
deep-rooted mutual trust. The people of China and Chinese government deeply
valued the all weather friendship with Pakistan.●
