Operation launched to evacuate 500 Pakistanis from Lebanon

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan embassy has launched an extensive operation to evacuate 500 Pakistani’s from bombardment ravaged Lebanon, Pakistan Ambassador to Lebanon Asma Aneesa said.

Talking to a private tv channel, she said a batch of Pakistanis has already been sent back to Pakistan.

Another batch of expatriate Pakistanis was also leaving for Pakistan.

Arrangement have been made to send home the remaining Pakistanis as soon as possible, she said.

Important phone numbers and mobile numbers of the ambassador in Beirut has already been circulated among the Pakistanis aiming to facilitate them and provide them instant help.

She said the embassy staff and Pakistanis are absolutely safe.

The residences of staff and Pakistan embassy are very near to airport and indeed vulnerable. Attacks by Israeii’s are continuing unabated, she added.●
