QUETTA: The Jamhoori Watan Party (JWP) President, Nawab Mohammad Akbar Bugti and all of his associates including his grandson Brahamdagh Bugti have escaped unhurt the massive aerial and ground action by the Pakistan security.

The JWP spokesman and former Senator from Balochistan Amanullah Kanrani said in Quetta that the action that was undertaken on Monday at seven places in the mountains in Dera Bugti continued till Wednesday evening.

Three Jet bombers and some 20 helicopters were deployed in the operation, he claimed. He said the helicopters included gunship helicopters had also dropped paratroopers in the area at all the seven spots that were lifted away on Wednesday.

He said the JWP Chief is safe and sound and had been in touch with his party members since Tuesday evening. He said it was the third attempt on the life of Akbar Bugti in the last 18 months.

When asked about the casualties during the 3-day operation, Amanullah Kanrani said it had to be answered by those who were involved in the assault. “I can simply confirm that Nawab Sahib and his associates are safe” Kanrani said.

The security has killed around 25 terrorists in a raid at a Farrari camp in the area of Dera Bugti.

The Farrari camp was raided and 25 terrorists were killed and heavy ammunition and arms including rocket launchers, etc have been recovered from the camp.

The personnel of security forces remained perfectly safe in the raid, he said.●
