Woman shot dead amid dacoity bid in Karachi

KARACHI: Motorcyclist gunmen killed wife of a retired Army major and injured her five-year child in a dacoity bid on Sunday morning.

According to police Noorjehan w/o Major (Rtd) Dr. Mehmood Gul was returning back to her home in Malir Cantt from a wedding when two motorcyclist armed men tried to take her hostage near Gulshan-e-Jamal but on her resistance they shot her dead on the spot. Her five-year child was also injured in the firing.

The dacoits fled from the scene after taking valuables.

Shahrah-e-Faisal police brought the dead body to Jinnah Hospital, which was later handed over to the family.●
