Dwindling Water Sources
- Murad Ali, USA

PAKISTAN's per capita water access has dropped from 5,600 cubic meters in 1947 to a mere 1,200 by 2005.

This is a serious situation and I am at a loss as to why building of water reservoirs has been allowed to become a political issue in Pakistan.

One was expecting General Musharraf to deliver on this front at least; he should not let political concerns come in the way of what’s good for the nation and its people.

We all know that Pakistan’s economy is agri-dependent, if such a grave situation concerning water cannot bring the people together what else will?●
