Electoral Rolls' Preparation to be Monitored in Pakistan
'Pakistan Times' Balochistan Bureau

QUETTA: All necessary arrangements have been completed for computerised electoral rolls in Balochistan.

This information was given by Provincial Election Commissioner Balochistan Javaid Khurshid to Chief Election Commissioner Justice (R) Qazi Muhammad Farooq at a high level meeting here Sunday.

Member Election Commission Justice Ahmad Khan Lashari, Secretary Election Commission Kanwar Muhammad Dilshad also attended.

Provincial Election Commissioner Balochistan told that 35 Registration Officers, 247 Assistant Registration Officers, 2588 Supervisors and 8038 counters have been deployed while around 120 Revising Authorities would also be appointed.

CEC expressed satisfaction over these arrangements and said that officers and staff of Election Commission should complete this national task with sincerity of purpose and clean conscience as eyes of entire world were focused on it .

He said it is hoped international observers would also come before time. He said election Commission machinery is very active and all the phases of preparation of computerised electoral rolls would be monitored.

Special monitoring teams would be constituted under the control of provincial headquarters of Election Commission.

Qazi Farooq said that these rolls would be sent to NADRA for verification and Election Commission would also check these lists for keeping them error free. He said these computerised lists would be mistakes free.

Chief Election Commissioner stressed the need that rules and regulations should be strictly followed in the preparation of these lists.●
