'Train service between
Pakistan-Iran Not Suspended'

ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister
for Railways, Sheikh Rashid Ahmed on Friday said train service between
Pakistan and Iran has not been suspended and is running as per schedule.
In his written reply to a question, he said no change in the schedule of
train service has taken place.
To another question, he said three trains namely Khyber mail, Awam Express
and Khushhal Khan Khattak Express are plying between Peshawar and Karachi.
There is no proposal under consideration to introduce a new train between
the two cities, he added.
The Minister said separate reservation counters for women are already
established at all the railways station having computerized reservation
office like Lahore, Multan, Sukkur, Karachi City, Karachi Cantt and Quetta.
Similar facility will be provided at Peshawar and Rawalpindi in the near
future.
As far as the small booking office and stations re concerned where printed
card tickets are issued,
provision of reservation counters for ladies is not possible.
However, at such railways station separate queues for ladies are usually
observed, he added.●
