ISLAMABAD: President of Pakistan Muslim League Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain has termed 2007 the year of general elections.

The next general elections would be held in 2007, but it was too early to specify the exact month, he said while talking to a private television channel (Geo).

He said the Pakistan Muslim has started preparations for elections and people would elect PML because of its performance.

Shujaat said Nawaz Sharif had joined Peoples Party and rejected any compromise with him.

He also said; 'the budget for 2006-7 was people friendly'.●
