return Home from India

LAHORE: A group of 59
Pakistani fishermen released by India have crossed into their homeland
through Wagah border.
These fishermen had been arrested by Indian Coast guards for inadvertently
crossing the coastal limits of the neighbouring country.
The released Pakistanis were received at the check post by officials of the
Interior Ministry, Punjab Rangers and Pakistan Fishermen Co-operative
Society.
Reponding to the goodwill gesture, Pakistani authorities same afternoon
released 71 Indian fishermen who will leave by a train for their home via
Wagah border.
These fishermen were in prison for the last three years for fishing in
Pakistani waters.
They were released from Landhi prison and handed over to Indian officials
and fishermen association.
Meanwhile, 59 Pakistani fishermen who were scheduled to arrive In Pakistan
via Khokrapar-Monabao border have crossed into Pakistan via Wagah Border.
An official of Fishermen’s Cooperative Society (FCS) said that association’s
delegation would take these fishermen from Wagah to Karachi by a train.
The society will bear all the expenses to bring in released fishermen from
the border and take them to their homes.●
