her way.
The “Next Step World Diversity Champion Award” is instituted by the British
Government to honor individuals who have encouraged pride in being a member
of the ethnic minority community as well as having a stronger sense of
personal fulfillment.
The British Foreign and Communication Office will present Miss Rai this
award on November 24th of this year where she is expected to address issues
related to ethnicity along with other speakers like former US secretary of
state Colin Powell and actor Jackie Chan.
Jackie Chan was also chosen for this award previously for the same reason as

In regards to this honor Aishwarya Rai said, “I think it’s a great honor.
Today beauty has come to be defined by many other far more profound
qualities than looks and posture. I hope people would stop holding my looks
against me and labeling me giggly and frivolous.

playing a lead role as a battered Punjabi housewife was elated too hear the
news and said that Aishwarya Rai is no more considered just a beauty Queen
and the film “Provoked” has something to do with her growing image as a
spokesperson for Indian women and it was a courageous act on her part to
have agreed to portray such a role.●
