Japan provides US$ 2Mln for Afghan refugees in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: Japan has provided $ two million to United Nations High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR) as grant for Afghan refugees in Pakistan, Voice of America reported.

Japan has handed over the grant to UNHCR in Geneva, which would help in carrying out the welfare activities.

Besides repatriating the Afghan refugees from Pakistan, UNHCR is also providing them education, health, clean drinking water and other facilities.

According to recent consensus, presently there are three million Afghan refugees in Pakistan.●
