Peshawar, Charsadda advance to
next round in All-Pakistan Basketball

PESHAWAR: Peshawar and
Charsadda advanced to next round after defeating their respective rivals on
Monday in the Ajab Khan Afridi All-Pakistan Kohat Basketball Tournament
being played at Signal ground Kohat.
Peshawar faced tough resistance against Manglah (Wapda) in the 55-50
thrilling battle watched by capacity crowd present on this occasion. Manglah
was leading by 28-31 till the end of the first-half.
Ramzan made 15 individual baskets including three- three pointers from the
long distance while Muhammad Javed and Amanat Khan scored 12 and 10 baskets
respectively.
It was good show by Peshawar main striker Fariq and Muhammad Shoaib Khan.
Both made 13 each individual baskets with two and one pointer each from the
long distance. Muhammad Naseem got nine individual baskets while Qadoos Khan
scored four individual baskets and enable the team to succed against Wapda
players.
In the second match Charsadda defeated 4-Cavelry (Kohat based Army Unite) by
85-68 in another battle. Charsadda main striker Kashif made 21 individual
baskets, followed by Jan Alam (9), Sajjad (5), Momeen Khan (10) and Mohsin
(8).
For Four-Cavalry (Army) Muhammad Aslam and Muhammad Tufail made 14 each
baskets and were the main contributors.
Besides them, Muhammad Khalid and Imtiaz scored six and five individual
baskets respectively. Faqir Awan, Fafiz Khan, Muhammad Ali and Mohammad
Mohsin supervised the matches.●
