Police launch ‘grand operation’ against lawbreakers in Shikarpur

SHIKARPUR: The police here on Saturday launched a "grand operation" against lawbreakers, besides reshuffling local police officers.

As the details say, after the kidnapping of judges and other serious crimes in the area, Regional Police Officers, Sukkur, Saleem Lone, had ordered a "grand operation" against anti-social elements.

He also transferred three TPOs and SHOs of Lakhi Gate, Stuart Gunj, Darkhan, Khanpur and Gaheja police stations.

Meanwhile, the police during the grand operation arrested Nawaz Marfani and Kole Marfani, who were said to be accomplices of local notorious bandit Totto Marfani.

The police also arrested three villagers, Akber Dayo, Master Dayo and Ahmed Dayo for their alleged contacts with the dacoits.

Raid on village


Separately, the police conducted a raid on village Qadir Bukhsh Jatoi and arrested five persons, identified as Dodo, Qadir Bukhsh, Gul Hassan, Ayub and Shamsher Jatoi.

A stolen motorcycle was also recovered from the area.

The police have set up new pickets and checkpoints in the city but the kidnapped judges are yet to be recovered.

Meanwhile, District Shikarpur Nazim Arif Khan Maher has banned rallies, processions and public gatherings by imposing section 144 in the district.●
