He congratulated Zardari on his release after Supreme Court granted him bail in BMW car reference. Maulana Fazalur Rehman said he has personally come to felicitate Asif Ali Zardari.

Meanwhile, the Sindh Chief Minister, Dr Arbab G. Rahim, said Tuesday that the release of ex-Premier Ms Benazir Bhutto’s spouse, Asif Ali Zardari, is not empty of any rationale.

This he said in his emergency press conference held here at his chamber during Sindh Assembly’s session today.

He was accompanied by Provinicial Minister, Ali Bux Shah, and Choudhry Iftikhar was also present on the occasion.

Of the Zardari's Security

Talking about safety of Asif Ali Zardari, Arbab said that Zardari should take his own steps for his safety as he was accused of a number of cases including murder of Mir Murtaza Bhutto.

However, the government could take any possible steps for his safety, provided that he submits his applications in written for the said purpose.

'NAB has not dropped any case against Asif Zardari'

A spokesman of the National Accountability Bureau [NAB] Tuesday said in Islamabad that the NAB has not dropped any corruption case against former Senator Asif Ali Zardari, who has been released on bail granted by the Supreme Court.

"No case has been closed against Asif Zardari, we will continue to pursue cases (of corruption) and hearings will take place," a Spokesman told newsmen at a briefing about a regional conference on combating corruption.

The conference on combating corruption in South Asia will be held in Lahore from Nov 25 to 27.

Responding to a question, the Spokesman said the grant of bail is the prerogative of the Court and part of the legal process.

The Spokesman said the former Senator has been acquitted in just one case, Pakistan Steel Mills and the appeal against the verdict is pending in the court.
