Zardari can Play Role of Bridge between
political Parties: Fazl

KARACHI: Leader of the
Opposition in National Assembly Maulana Fazlur Rehman has said that Pakistan
Peoples Party Parliamentarians' (PPPP) leader Asif Ali Zardari can play role
of a bridge between political parties in the country.
He was talking to reporters after having a meeting with Asif Ali Zardari at
Bilawal House here on Tuesday night.
He congratulated Zardari on his release after Supreme Court granted him bail
in BMW car reference. Maulana Fazalur Rehman said he has personally come to
felicitate Asif Ali Zardari.
Positive Impact
He was of the view that the release of Asif Ali Zardari would have a
positive impact on politics in the country.
Speaking on the occasion Asif Ali Zardari said that he has personal ties
with Maulana Fazlur Rehman. He thanked the Maulana for coming over to
Bilawal House to congratulate him on his release.
Zardari said, "we have one point agenda which is taking steps for the
betterment of the country."

Meanwhile, the Sindh Chief Minister, Dr Arbab G. Rahim, said Tuesday that
the release of ex-Premier Ms Benazir Bhutto’s spouse, Asif Ali Zardari, is
not empty of any rationale.
This he said in his emergency press conference held here at his chamber
during Sindh Assembly’s session today.
He was accompanied by Provinicial Minister, Ali Bux Shah, and Choudhry
Iftikhar was also present on the occasion.
Of the Zardari's Security
Talking about safety of Asif Ali Zardari, Arbab said that Zardari should
take his own steps for his safety as he was accused of a number of cases
including murder of Mir Murtaza Bhutto.
However, the government could take any possible steps for his safety,
provided that he submits his applications in written for the said purpose.
'NAB has not dropped any
case against Asif Zardari'
A spokesman of the National Accountability Bureau [NAB] Tuesday said in
Islamabad that the NAB has not dropped any corruption case against former
Senator Asif Ali Zardari, who has been released on bail granted by the
Supreme Court.
"No case has been closed against Asif Zardari, we will continue to pursue
cases (of corruption) and hearings will take place," a Spokesman told
newsmen at a briefing about a regional conference on combating corruption.
The conference on combating corruption in South Asia will be held in Lahore
from Nov 25 to 27.
Responding to a question, the Spokesman said the grant of bail is the
prerogative of the Court and part of the legal process.
The Spokesman said the former Senator has been acquitted in just one case,
Pakistan Steel Mills and the appeal against the verdict is pending in the
court.
Asif Zardari was released
on bail on Monday in the BMW reference.●
