The Handover Deceit
- Shehzad
Bashir, via e-mail
ON June 30th the
Muslims of Iraq will finally get their ‘sovereignty’ back. However is this
really the case? Clearly it is not because we can see a number of
contradictions, how can Iraq be a sovereign nation when its internal,
external security is controlled by occupiers? An analogy would be Britain’s
internal and foreign security being controlled by France – In this context
Britain clearly would not be seen as a sovereign nation.
This exaggerated hype of handing over ‘sovereignty’ is nothing but a sham,
in reality it is another puppet regime that has been installed by the
occupiers which will carry out orders from Washington and London. This will
achieve a number of objectives for its occupiers as it will give legitimacy
to the occupation, appease world opinion against the war and subsequent
occupation as well as allow the occupiers to retain their strategic
influence.
Unfortunately this has been sold to Western populace without the real issues
being discussed and this is where the role of Muslims is required to engage
the wider community into discussing this deceit of the fictitious handing
over of power.
Muslims must raise the discussion in the West be it in their homes,
neighbourhoods, places of work, media and any other platform. This
discussion must explain that the only solution is for the removal of the
occupation with the Muslims of Iraq left to decide their own future.
The question needs to be raised as to why are the Muslims of Iraq being
force fed democracy when they clearly want the Islamic Ideology which will
bring true liberation - this is what the occupiers fear hence we have
physical occupation and an imposed regime.
It is time the Western populace saw the real image of Islam as a necessary
and valid alternative for democracy and something that the Muslims of Iraq
should be allowed to embrace without the intimidation of the American led
occupation against it. Without the Muslims carrying out this discussion we
will clearly see the continuation of occupation and the continuing of this
deceit to the western populace.●
