Underdeveloped areas to be placed at par,
says PM

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister
Shaukat Aziz on Sunday said that government's first and foremost priority is
to bring the underdeveloped areas of the country at par with the developed
ones.
He said this while talking to Chief Minister Sindh, Dr. Arbab Ghulam Rahim
who called on him here Sunday at the Prime Minster House.
Shaukat Aziz said that the government was striving to take the fruits of
economic development to the common man and to improve standard of life.
He said provision of basic necessities of life to the people especially to
those belonging to the remote and backward areas is being accorded priority.
The government is fully alive to solve their problems and difficulties, the
PM said.
During the meeting they also discussed matters pertaining to the province of
Sindh with special reference to take measures to further improve the law and
order situation there.
Meets Parliamentarians
The Prime Minister Sunday said his government's sole agenda was welfare of
the people and economic prosperity and stability of the country.
He was talking to a delegation of group of parliamentarians who called on
him here at Prime Minister House on Sunday.
The delegation felicitated him on assuming the charge as Prime Minister.
They also congratulated the prime minister on obtaining the vote of
confidence from National Assembly with comfortable majority.
The Prime Minister thanked the allied parties for reposing confidence in him
and hoped that with their help and cooperation the democratic institutions
would
gain further strength.
The members of the delegation expressed their full support and confidence in
the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister and said that country would benefit
tremendously by his vision for economic prosperity through macro-economic
stability.
The other members of the delegation were Dr. Sher Afgan MNA, Azhar Ahmed
Khan Yusafzai MNA, Pir Muhammad Aslam Bodla MNA and Asad Murtaza Gilani MNA.
Chinese PM Greets Shaukat
Aziz as new PM of Pakistan
Chinese Prime Minister Wen Jiabao has greeted the newly elected Prime
Minister Shaukat Aziz and expressed hope that under his guidance Pakistan
would achieve success in socio-economic fields.
The Chinese Premier in his message said that China honors its traditional
friendship with Pakistan and is pursuing a policy to establish friendly and
brotherly ties with the neighboring countries, Radio China reported.
Pakistan and China have a long history of warm and friendly relations, he
said.
The Chinese government wants to further enhance cooperation with Pakistan in
different sectors through mutual cooperation and harmony in various regional
and international issues to create a new spirit in the already friendly
relations.
The Chinese Prime Minister said that the friendship between the two
countries is an example for neighbouring countries.●
