2 Martyred, 6 injured in Rocket attacks on
Wana Scouts

Unidentified miscreants fired three rockets on Scouts camp in Wana area of
South Waziristan martyring two personnel of security forces and wounding
six.
According to official sources and eyewitnesses, some unidentified miscreants
fired three rockets on Scouts camp last night around 1 A.M, out of which,
one fell near the barrack causing no damage, but the other two falling near
the picket martyred two personnel of security forces and injured six. The
wounded were admitted into the hospital immediately.

An earlier report said that the camp of Shawal Rifles in Razmak, North
Waziristan Agency, has come under rocket fire of the foreign militants.
Five rockets landed around the fort and one hit a shop in Razmak Bazaar. No
loss of life was reported.
Razmak borders the troubled South Waziristan Agency where a military
operation against suspected al-Qaeda and Taliban fighters has been launched
since March this year.
Yet another report says that miscreants fired rockets at the Wana Scouts
Camp. Three houses were destroyed in retaliatory firing by the security
forces in Village Doog. However, no loss of life was reported.
The miscreants fired two rockets at Wana Scouts Camp on the night between
Friday and Saturday but missed the target.
Security Retaliates
Security forces fired shells and mortars in retaliation, which destroyed
three houses in Doog village.
Almost 40 armed vehicles left for Shakai to launch an offensive against
foreign militants. The political administration has started the process of
giving out personal guarantees, but even such measures have not helped
improve the situation.
Miscreants Wiped-out
The security forces have wiped out the hideouts of miscreants from Wana,
Shakai and surrounding areas, DG, ISPR Maj Gen Shaukat Sultan said on
Sunday.
Talking to a private news channels, the Director General Inter Services
Public Relations (ISPR) said, miscreants indulged in the subversive
activities will be dealt with iron hands.
The security forces and political administration were ensuring that in the
next few weeks the whole area is purged from foreign miscreants, Shaukat
said. The security forces were trying to arrange surrender of miscreants
through political process, he added.
To a question the DG, ISPR said, on Saturday night, some miscreants fired
rockets at the camps of security forces. One jawan was killed while the
injured were being provided necessary medical aid.
It was being probed that from where the rockets were fired. Appropriate
action against miscreants will be taken to thwart recurrence of such type of
anti state activities.●
