Sixteen Kidnapped for Ransom in Chagai

CHAGAI: Six armed men
stopped two pick-ups coming from Afghanistan on Sunday and took hostage
sixteen passengers on Sunday officials said.
Rasool and Wali Khan and shifted the captives including women and children
to some unknown place and demanded heavy ransom for their release.
123 arrested for illegal entry into Iran
Another report says that Taftan Levies Force arrested 123 Pakistanis who had
crossed into Iranian territory without valid travelling documents on Sunday.
Border officials say all were handed over by Iranian authorities to them.
They wanted to proceed to some European destination in search of jobs.
UN team to register Afghan voters in Chagai
A United Nations monitoring team arrived in Dalbandin, the district
headquarters of Chagai and met with Afghan refugees elders in Girdi Jungle
refugee camp on Sunday.
The team belonging to UN's International Monitoring Organisation will set up
a field office at Dalbandin and stay there for two months to register Afghan
refugees in electoral list to enable them to cast their votes in coming
Afghan presidential elections.
Polling stations will be set up at various points in the district for the
purpose, the officials said.●
