Furious Zadibal residents stone police

And several police officials including SP Hazratbal were injured and puppet Finance Minister, Muzaffar Baig had a narrow escape when the residents of Zadibal in Srinagar, pelted stones on them.

The residents nearly lynched the SHO Zadibal, who was rescued by the police after firing scores of shots in the air. The residents were furious over Friday's incident when police used brute force to quell the peaceful protests. Eyewitnesses said before Baig could begin his speech, the accused SHO Zadibal reached the spot. On seeing him, people who were seething with anger pounced upon him and nearly lynched him. They pelted stones on the police contingent there injuring SP Hazratbal, SDPO Hazratbal, SHO Lal Bazar, SHO Zakura and several other police personnel.
