'Pakistan Not to hand-over arrested terrorists to any Country'
Pakistan Times Monitoring Report

ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Syed Faisal Saleh Hayat on Friday said high profile Al-Qaeda man, Ahmed Khalfan will not be handed over to any country.

"The investigations are underway. These people will not be handed over to any country without fulfilling all requirements," he told a British news network.

Their further links were being probed by the security agencies, he said. Their presence in Gujrat was detected by the security agencies, he added.

Linked to al-Qaeda

Talking to newsmen in the Parliament House, Faisal Saleh Hayat Friday said, terrorists arrested from Gujrat have links with Al-Qaeda.

He said; so far no decision has been taken to hand over these 14 terrorists to the United States.

"Any decision about their handing over to the United States, if the US requests, will be made after thorough investigation and in accordance with the law," he said.

To another question, he said, the law enforcing agencies were not apprehending the terrorists for material gains.

"These arrests were meant for purging our society of the terrorist elements who were maligning the image of the country," the Minister said.●
