Stormy winds hit coastal areas of Thatta

THATTA: Stormy winds in coastal areas of Thatta district have disturbed the civic life for the last four days.

According to reports received here Friday, Ketibundar, Shahbundar, Jati, Kharochhan and other coastal areas of Mirpursakro and Gorabari Talukas are hit by the stormy winds.

The winds have damaged the hutments in several coastal villages, where rooftops were blown up and high ocean tides have caused damages to existing crops.

The fishermen have reportedly anchored their fishing boats at safer places on the shore.

An official source at DCO office said that the administration has prepared to meet any eventuality. However, there was no report of loss of human life. ●
