'Pakistani Students in Cyprus
not involved in any illegal activity' ISLAMABAD: Pakistani students, recently arrested and deported from Cyprus were not involved in any illegal activity in Cyprus as no link of the students with Al-Qaeda could be proved, Pakistani Ambassador to Lebanon, Asma Anisa told while talking to 'Pakistan Times'. Asma said, so far, no link of the students with Al-Qaeda could be found by the Cyprus police, but, they have been deported merely on suspicion and under precautionary measures. She said that no illegal material was found from the students. Replying to a question, she said, "We are in touch with the high officials of Cyprus on the matter". She clarified that Cyprus police authorities have confirmed that Pakistani students did not have links with Al-Qaeda. Elaborating further she said, Cyprus authorities have assured that no injustice would be done with Pakistanis living in the country.● |
