Indian Soldier shot dead after gunning down officer in Held Kashmir
Pakistan Times Kashmir Desk

SRINAGAR (Indian Held-Kashmir): A frustrated Indian soldier shot dead his commanding officer before being gunned down by guards in Indian held Kashmir Wednesday.

Lt Colonel A K Goso was shot dead by Kannar Bahadur Thapa following an argument at the headquarters of 19 Infantry Division lastnight, said a news report quoting Defence sources.

Later Kannar Thapa committed suicide by shooting himself with his weapon, added the report. The incident involving soldiers occurred in northern Baramulla district.

With a 15-year-old on-going freedom struggle in Indian occupied Kashmir, such incidents very often occur, with the refusal of leave to Indian soldiers being one of the main sparks for violent outbursts against officers.●
