Rain brings relief for diverse vicinities
in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: The twin cities
of Islamabad and Rawalpindi received rain on Monday morning which turned the
weather pleasant, adding to lush green beauty of the capital.
The weather remained little cloudy with sun shinning for most part in the
afternoon.
Due to the fine weather condition, no bush fires was reported during in the
summer season. However, a couple of incidents of isolated fires were repoted
in the beginning of summer but due to the fine weather condition, the
Margallas seems to be revitalized with green cover hiding the man-made scars
on its face.
The Met office has forecast iterrmittent rains of moderate intensity in the
twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad and further scattered rains of light
to moderate intensity over the upper catchments of all major rivers along
with southern and northeastern Punjab.
Forecast for Elsewhere
Showers are also expected over central Punjab, NWFP, Zhob, Hazara division,
Kashmir and also over lower Sindh.
The cotton belt of the country is likely to receive rains during next 24
hours. The rain would be beneficial for the Khareef crops particularly
cotton.
According to weather experts, a monsoon low has crossed inland from the Bay
of Bengal and lies over Indian state of Orissa. However, as it is quite far
away from Pakistan it cannot be predicted at the moment whether it reaches
Pakistan or not.
Reports of rain have also been received from Zhob 37 mm, Babusar Top 13 mm,
Marala 22 mm, Shakargarh and Phulra 9 mm each, Sialkot 8mm, Barkhan and
Palku 7 mm each.
The highest temperature of 44 degree centigrade was recorded in Sibbi and
maximum temperature in major cities: Islamabad 34 C, Lahore 38 C, Karachi 35
C, Peshawar 39 C, Quetta 39 C, Muzaffarabad 36 C, Murree 24 C, Multan 43 C,
Faisalabad 40 C and Gilgit 36 C.●
