The PTV 'Censor'

PAKISTAN Television, (Ptv) cut off the speech of the Leader of the Opposition, Maulana Fazlur Rehman, during the live session of the Parliament - after the election of the Leader of the House.

It was the most undemocratic display of behavior which reflects what sort of mentality the people in the ruling party and the top-brass of this government-governed institution possess. Only a part of is speech was heard, which became possible when a private TV channel made it possible through telephone connection.

Such a behavior reflects, where does democracy stand in our beloved country right now. One cannot even imagine an opposition leader's speech being cut off in a live session in such a manner in a democratic country.●
