ISLAMABAD: A delegation
of Parliamentarians have had a meeting with President General
Pervez Musharraf in two separate groups in his Chambers at the
Parliament House here today.
During the course of meeting views were exchanged on various
matters of national and international importance such as
federal budget 2004-05, law and order, Pak-India relations.
Issues Discussed
The Parliamentarians discussed with the President various
issues such as the ongoing developmental projects and schemes
in their respective constituencies and other matters
pertaining to the socio-economic uplift of the people.
They appreciated the steps taken in the federal budget for
accelerating economic growth and apprised the President of
their efforts for making Pakistan a progressive, dynamic and
modern Islamic welfare state.
The President thanked the Parliamentarians for their
sentiments and said that all possible efforts would be made to
resolve the issues highlighted by them.
Those who attended the meeting included Ch. Umar Ahmed Ghuman,
Ali Asjid Malhi, Zahid Hamid Khan, Mrs. Riffat Javed Kahlon,
Zulfiqar Ahmad Dhillon, Muhammad Saeed Virk, Khurram Munawar
Manj, Mian Shamim Haider, Bilal Ahmad Virk, Rai Mansab Ali
Khan, Sardar Tufail Ahmed Khan, Sardar Asif Nakai, Rai
Muhammad Aslam Kharal, Syed Gulzar Sabtain Shah, Nawab
Amanullah Khan, Muhammad Akhtar Khan Kanju, Malik Ghulam
Murtaza Maitla, Rana Tariq Javed and Rai Azizullah Khan.
Speaker, PM Meet President
Later, Speaker of National Assembly, Ch. Amir Hussain and
Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali also called on the
President in his Chamber at the Parliament House.
The meetings expected to continue over the next few days are
aimed at acquiring first hand knowledge of the problems being
faced by the masses. They form part of President General
Pervez Musharrafs efforts to remain abreast with the issues
being confronted by the people and seeking their solution.
